Planning your revision
Collect past exam papers and mark schemes for every subject
Note each exam date, time, location and permitted materials in one place
Build a revision timetable that covers all subjects with spaced repetition
Break large topics into specific subtopics and estimate hours needed per subtopic
Identify your three weakest areas per subject and schedule extra sessions for them
Active revision techniques
Practise at least two past papers per subject under timed, closed-book conditions
Use active recall (flashcards, self-testing) rather than passive re-reading
Summarise each lecture topic in one page of your own words
Form or join a study group to quiz each other and explain difficult concepts
Review lecturer feedback from coursework to spot recurring mistakes
Admin before the exam
Confirm your seat number and exam hall location on the student portal
Check the list of permitted items (calculator model, dictionary, open book)
Apply for reasonable adjustments (extra time, rest breaks) well before the deadline
Prepare your exam kit the evening before (ID, pens, water bottle, snacks)
Plan your route to the exam hall and add 30 minutes of buffer time
During and after
Read all questions before starting and allocate time per question
Attempt every question, even partially, to maximise available marks
Leave five minutes at the end to re-read and correct careless errors
Note any topics you found difficult immediately after the exam for future study
Debrief with your notes after results to calibrate your next revision strategy
