We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run student-online.net.

What we store

• Account data you provide when registering: username, email address, a securely hashed password, and an optional display name and bio.
• Content you create: your Campus posts, likes and follows.
• A language cookie (SO_LOCALE) that remembers your interface language, and a session cookie used for login.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not show third-party advertising trackers.
• Your password is stored only as a salted BCrypt hash — never in plain text.
